Sonic Equipment Company bringing the Next Step to Digital Cinema

Sonic Equipment Company invited exhibitors, theatre owners, and industry personnel to a presentation and demonstration of Digital Cinema. The presentation took place at the Sterling Six Cinema, in Iola, KS, owned and operated by B&B Theaters.

This event included information on how a digital system works, pricing for equipment, and possible leasing options. The exhibitors and theatre owners were able to see the equipment in the booth, and illustrations of how the conversion to Digital would work in their theatres. The attendees experienced a spectacular 2D and 3D demonstration that had everyone amazed.

Michael Covey confirmed over 60 guests representing over 250 screens attended this event hosted by Sonic Equipment Company, on April 22, 2008.

“Many questions were asked, but with Sonics’ experience in Digital Cinema, and the help of representatives from BARCO, DTS, QuVIS, RealD, Clune Leasing, and Brad Bills all of those questions were answered,” said Michael Covey, Digital Cinema Manager for Sonic Equipment. Representatives were Terri Westhafer from BARCO; Susie Beiersdorf from DTS; Marlene Songin from RealD; Curtis Drake from QuVIS; Kevin Clune from Clune Leasing; Brad Bills from Independent Film Services; and Sheldon Liberty from Kneisley Manufacturing. “Everyone was very excited to see the 3D demo, but with the great product RealD has to offer, how could anyone not be amazed,” says Covey.

Digital is still a new technology and Sonic is at the forefront. As Sonic grows in the Digital Age so will the exhibitors and theatre owners.
