Panel titled, “Digital Cinema Roll-out: A Status Report
After a fast start, the transition of theaters from 35mm film to digital cinema has apparently slowed largely due to restricted financial markets. However the immediate driver is 3D, especially with the recent success of the 3D release of DreamWorks Animation SKG's film, “Monsters vs. Aliens.” This session will explore the lessons learned from the leaders in the digital cinema roll-out. The panel will also discuss financing options to keep the digital conversion on-track, and take advantage of the many upcoming 3D and alternative content made possible by D-Cinema.
