Technology’s new Japan office to supply digital cinema servers to Japanese
exhibitors involving over 1000 screens

Technology’s sister company GDC Digital Cinema Network GG , has commenced
supplying servers to major Japanese exhibitors involving over 1000 screens. To
date over 600 GDC servers have been installed and the remaining installations
are expected to be completed by 2012. Xebex Inc, a subsidiary of USHIO Inc, and
a leading system integration company in Japan, is responsible for the installation
and maintenance of all of GDC’s servers in Japan. To
meet the significant and growing demand for digital cinema in Japan, GDC DCN,
which specializes in the deployment of digital cinema systems, after sales support
and virtual print fee (“VPF”) administration services, has opened a
new office in Tokyo. The new office assures comprehensive and immediate after-sales
and technical support catering to distributors and exhibitors, including those
who have already joined GDC’s VPF program. “We
are very honored to be part of the GDC DCN team in Japan. More and more Japanese
exhibitors are embracing digital cinema and GDC Tech’s state-of-the-art digital
cinema solutions will help them through the conversion process,” said Fumihito
Tsukamoto, president of GDC DCN.
Mr. Tsukamoto brings a wealth of experience
from his previous roles in the Japan exhibition market. Prior to joining GDC DCN,
he served as general manager of Toho Co., Ltd.’s new technologies R&D
department where he accelerated the technology development and digitalization
for its cinemas. Prior to his role with Toho Co. Ltd., Mr. Tsukamoto worked at
Virgin Cinemas in Japan where he held senior management positions and led the
company’s technology promotion. “We
