Europe's Finest is the name of the EU MEDIA funded film digitisation project to be launch in the Fall of 2008.

This challenging pilot project intends to digitise and distribute 30-40 European film classics.

The films will be digitised into a JPEG 2000 DCI interoperable format.

Objective : Working together with some of Europe's leading distributors, Europe's Finest intends to create a pool of Classic titles to be distributed as 2K DCPs (other digital file formats will be taken into consideration for screenings in e-cinemas).

One of the central aims of Europe's Finest is to conserve cultural film heritage while providing cinemas with digital content.
