New 3-D Technology from TrioScopics
TrioScopics LP has developed a stereoscopic imaging technology that consists of proprietary encoding combined with inexpensive glasses, and does not require specialized projectors, screens, or players and display equipment.
 
A demonstration by TrioScopics was unveiled at the recent 3-D Summit in Los Angeles.
 
The process combines the left and right eye image pairs into a single color-encoded image that appears as a full color 3-D image when viewed through the TrioScopics-designed glasses.

Arts Alliance Media (AAM) announced that its Digital Cinema Network Software (DCNS) is ready for commercial deployment.
 
From the control and tracking of hardware and software across a circuit, central control of content and playout of each screen, circuit wide management reporting of playout logs and KDM activity, through to fault monitoring and Virtual Print Fee (VPF) calculation and reporting, the AAM DCNS provides everything an exhibitor needs to run a digital circuit, no matter how large or small.

Technicolor Provides both Available Digital Cinema Image Detection Watermarking Solutions
Technicolor announced that it is now offering both digital cinema image detection watermarking solutions available on the market, Cinefence and Nexguard, both offered by Civolution.
 
In addition to digital cinema watermarking, Technicolor also offers forensic image watermarking embedding and detection services for video and film prints, as well as audio watermarking across Dolby SR, SRD and DTS formats, and file and tape based watermarking.
Upcoming Event:  China Int'l Digital Cinema Technology Expo
On December 3-5, 2009 in China's Macao, filmmakers, broadcasters, experts and technology companies will gather for a content creator-entertainment technology centered event.
 
The Expo will include an exhibition area featuring top technology companies and manufacturers, a conference program of panels and speakers who will address creative topics as well as the implications of emerging technologies on storytelling, social events and networking, and a digital cinema film festival.
