At the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, the scientists of the imaging systems department have been provided a state-of-the-art digital cinema where D-Cinema developments can be presented and tested.

Bharti Airtel, India's largest private mobile services company, is studying the possibility of entering the digital cinema business, an emerging opportunity that has attracted the attention of global telecom companies.

Multiplex chain PVR Cinemas has commenced its initiative to install digital projectors across its properties in India. These digital projector installations, provided by California-based company Christie, would help them do away with the analog projectors and prints.

Christie projectors were used for the closing ceremony on August 24th and will be used at the Beijing 2008 Paralympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies on September 6th and 17th respectively.
