Microspace Digital Cinema Experiences 200% Growth in Less Than One Year

Microspace Communications Corporation a leading
distributor of digital cinema via satellite, announced
that it has expanded its network to more
than 3,000 screens across North America becoming
the largest independent network to service theater
owners.
Using its VELOCITY satellite system, Microspace now
services six full theater circuits including Carmike
Cinemas, Celebration! Cinema, Megaplex and
Cineplex Entertainment.

INTEL, DreamWorks Animation Form Strategic Alliance to Revolutionize 3-D Filmmaking Technology

Intel Corporation and DreamWorks Animation SKG,
Inc. have announced they have formed a strategic
alliance aimed at revolutionizing 3-D filmmaking
technology, beginning with Monsters vs. Aliens, which
is slated for a domestic release date of March 27,
2009.
The strategic alliance will take advantage of Intel's
visual computing products and tools and
DreamWorks Animation's expertise in content creation
to advance the in-theater entertainment experience.

SENSIO Technologies Inc announced the signing of a
Licensing Agreement with International Datacasting
Corporation for the integration of the SENSIO 3D
cinema decoding technology into products for the
digital cinema market.

Ireland's First Exclusively Digital Cinema Opens

The cinema's digital projection network, provided
by 'Digital Cinema Limited', will consist of Barco 2K
resolution digital projectors with Doremi digital
servers. All eight screens are fitted with Dolby Digital
sound processors and Crown amplifiers with up to 17
JBL speakers.

RED Announce Monstro Sensor and Scope for RED
|

RED Digital Cinema announced the development
of 'Monstro', their Mysterium sensor of the future.
Monstro' is the sensor that removes all limitations in
current sensor technology. It is expected to arrive the
end of 2010.
