Oculus3d Announces 3D Projection Solution for Existing 35 Millimeter Film Projectors
Oculus3D announced its first product, the OculR system, a low-cost 3D lens and print format for the installed base of 35mm movie projectors.

The OculR system eliminates the need for exhibitors to purchase a new digital system to play 3D films. The OculRsystem also does not require exhibitors to pay per-seat or per-show royalty fees.

JVC Kenwood Group and RealD Partner for 3D Business
RealD announced an agreement with JVC KENWOOD Holdings, Inc. to license multiple RealD technologies including the proprietary stereoscopic RealD Format.
 
The RealD Format and other RealD 3D technologies will see integrated support in JVC 3D products including 3D LCD monitors.
AMC Entertainment to Acquire Kerasotes Theatres
AMC will acquire substantially all of the assets of Kerasotes.
Kerasotes owns 96 theatres and 973 screens in mid-sized, suburban and metropolitan markets, primarily in the Midwest. More than three quarters of the Kerasotes theatres feature stadium seating and almost 90 percent have been newly built since 1994.
Final Frame Post Provides Digital Cinema Packaging (DCP) for Sundance 2010 Entry - Howl

Final Frame Post provided the Digital Cinema Packaging (DCP) services for Howl, a Sundance dramatic entry about the young Allen Ginsberg finding his voice, the creation of his groundbreaking poem HOWL, and the landmark obscenity trial that followed.

Cast includes; James Franco, David Strathairn, Jon Hamm, Mary-Louise Parker, Jeff Daniels and directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.

Christie and FTT enter into an agreement for 300 Christie Solaria Series projectors

Christie announces the agreement for 300 Christie Solaria series projectors with FTT, its German integration and service partner headquartered in Düsseldorf.

These 300 Christie projectors are primarily going to be installed in German cinemas of various operators but also in other countries in Central and Eastern Europe where FTT operates.
Moving Image Technologies Hires Elizabeth Sands as its New Director of Sales
Elizabeth comes to MiT with over 17 years of cinema experience having worked with such major manufacturers as Dolby, Sony and JBL.

The 3D choice for the Sundance Film Festival is Barco

As the digital cinema projectors selected for use at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, Barco projectors will screen the festival's 3D entry, Cane Toads: The Conquest - a documentary by filmmaker Mark Lewis.
