XDC acquires majority shares in FTT
XDC took over the majority of shares in FTT group at the end of 2009. Thomas Rüttgers, managing partner of FTT, became shareholder in XDC International and member of the Supervisory Board.
 
The first project of both companies in their new partnership will be the implementation of the first 100 VPF screens in Germany.
Sony 3D Technology Center Opens
Sony Corporation announced that it will open the "Sony 3D Technology Center," located at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, to train and nurture a community of experts in the rapidly growing market of 3D entertainment.
 
The new center will offer professionals from across the industry a hands-on opportunity to learn more about the techniques and equipment used to create 3D productions of all kinds - including sports, movies, television and games.
NEC Extends Financing Incentives on Digital Cinema Projectors
NEC announced the availability of financing incentives for theater owners looking to upgrade cinema projector capabilities to digital.
 
NEC has extended its financing program till March 31, 2010 and is offering eligible organizations special financing packages with low introductory payments on eligible NEC 3D-enabled digital cinema projectors.
Kinoton Installs XL Digital 3D Cinema Systems

The Cineplex Marburg and the Cinedom Koeln multiplexes were the first German cinemas to offer their audience large scale digital 3D Cinema.

In the run-up to the theatrical release of "Avatar", both cinemas were equipped with Kinoton 3D2P systems, each operating with two DCP Digital Cinema Projectors.
Cinema Centers Multiplexes Select Christie DLP Cinema Projectors
Christie announced the recent installation of their CP2000-ZX digital projectors in Cinema Centers' multiplex theatres in central Pennsylvania.
 
The community-focused Cinema Centers, serving rural areas of Pennsylvania, features five multiplexes with a total of 55 screens, plus one single-screen drive-in theatre.

Barco and Cinema West partner in California's largest 3D digital cinema multiplex

Cinema West, an independent California exhibitor, chose Barco DP-2000 digital cinema projectors for every screen in their new Palladio 16 multiplex in Folsom, California.

With a total seating capacity of 3000 the all-digital venue includes six 3D-capable theatres.
