For the sixth year in a row now the High Definition Competence Center is organizing the Digital Cinematography.

Every year during the high definition event, the three organizers Gerhard Baier (Band Pro Munich GmbH), Martin Ludwig (Ludwig Kameraverleih GmbH) and Martin Kreitl (MKMedia Production) present the latest trends and developments and share experiences in the world of high definition production.

The event revolves around three elements:

- Exhibition
- Screening
- Workshops

Interested visitors come to the exhibition grounds covering more than 2000 sm to learn about the latest trends in high definition production as well as the latest innovations regarding camera, lens, post production, archiving, and production accessories offered by worldwide market leaders.

Yearly, more than 40 exhibitors present the latest technologies and their extensive possibilities in high definition production to the large number of visitors.

In the specialized workshops, the visitors are given the opportunity to learn even more about the new technologies and models.

In the camera set designed by professional stage builders, the visitors can test the latest camera systems hands-on in different lighting situations, with multiple props and live actors.

In 2008 once again the visitors will be presented with a show of superlatives. 40 exhibitors on three floors, among them the former IMAX, will present the latest and greatest in HD production and provide detailed knowledge in the many different workshops.

During their popular screenings, the former IMAX cinemas with their 300sm+ screens have demonstrated in a remarkably high quality what the HD technology is capable of delivering.

Digital Cinematography has meanwhile become an integral part of this industry and over the last couple of years has advanced to the lead event for high definition.

This is also reflected in the fact that famous guest speakers like Michael Ballhaus enjoy coming back every year to participate in this event and share their vast experiences with other film makers.

Despite the constantly rising number of visitors and the continuously growing significance of this event, it has been able to maintain its relaxed character.
