Christie projectors were used for the closing ceremony on August 24th as well as the Beijing 2008 Paralympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies on September 6th and 17th respectively.
Christie projectors performed flawlessly at the August 8th opening ceremony delivering the most complicated, ground-breaking visual design ever created in the history of the Games' opening ceremonies. The entire performance was projected using 84 Christie Roadster S+20K projectors and 63 Christie CP2000-ZX projectors, utilizing advanced Christie Twist edge blending software.
The spectular performance was projected onto the world's longest screen measuring 500m (1,640ft) long by 14m (46ft) high, as well as on the giant globe that took a year to design, construct and install. The globe has a diameter of 18m (59ft) and weighs about 16 tons, and can be raised to a height of 24m (79ft).
