In 1971, members of Theatre Equipment and Supply Manufacturers Association and Theatre Equipment Dealers Association united to form the TEA, Theatre Equipment Association.
The idea behind the TEA was to join forces into a single, permanent organization for the purpose of fostering and maintaining professional, business and social relationships among its members within all segments of the motion picture industry.
In 1994, the TEA became the ITEA expanding to the international arena. New members included companies in Canada, France, Japan, Singapore, the UK etc. In 2006, the ITEA became the ICTA. Today, the ICTA represents more than 180 manufacturers and Cinema-related businesses across the country and around the world.
The ICTA regularly presents seminars at their own Technical Seminars, and at Trade Shows
