CineStar Czech Republic now with XpanD 3D

Film Ton Technik equips another 6 CineStar screens with XpanD sytems for the release of Ice Age 3 in Czech Republic.

3D digital continues to be the major driver for the digital rollout: After the cinemas in Hradec Kralove, Pardubice and Plzen were equipped with digital 3D in March already, the CineStar theatres in Budweis and Olomouc now also have state-of-the-art 3D technology. Furthermore, under the auspices of CineStar Prague, the Village Cinemas Cerny Most and Andel in Prague will be outfitted as well.

In Germany, too, the focus is on 3D: following the cinemas in Hildesheim, Iserlohn, Lüneburg and Schwerin, the theatres in Bautzen, Görlitz and Riesa will also be equipped with XpanD systems for the release of Ice Age. Consequently the film “Ice Age 3 – Dawn of the Dinosaurs“ will be shown in 3D at 14 sites of the Kieft & Kieft + Partner cinema circuit.

Thomas Rüttgers, General Manager of FTT says: “We are thrilled to continue working together with Kieft & Kieft + Partner group on their further digital deployment.” Heiner Kieft, shareholder of the Kieft & Kieft + Partner group appreciates the co-operation with FTT: “Having implemented the first projects together we are positive about XpanD 3D technology and think that we can offer our audience a special highlight with this feature.“ According to Mr. Kieft further projects were scheduled for autumn 2009.
